How It Works

What working with us actually looks like

Hiring someone to build your website or software shouldn't feel like a leap of faith. Here's the whole process — every step, what it costs you in time, and exactly what you walk away with.

The Process

Five steps, start to finish

Most projects run start to finish in a few weeks. Here's how that time gets spent.

  1. Step 130 minutes · free

    Discovery call

A free 30-minute call about your business, your goals, and what's not working today. No pitch deck, no obligation.

    • We talk through what your business does, who you serve, and where the current site or software gets in the way.
    • You'll get straight answers on whether we're the right fit — including when the honest answer is that you don't need what we sell.
    • Bring anything you already have: an existing site, a competitor you admire, a rough sketch on a napkin.

What you get: A shared understanding of the problem — and whether we're a fit.

  2. Step 22–4 business days after the call

    Proposal & concept direction

A written proposal with fixed scope, fixed price, and a timeline — plus the visual and technical direction we'd take.

    • Fixed scope and a fixed quote in writing. No hourly surprises, no scope creep billed back to you.
    • A concept direction so you can picture it before you commit: layout approach, style references, and the pages or features included.
    • The technical plan in plain English — what we'd build it with, where it would be hosted, and what it costs to run.

What you get: A written proposal you can say yes or no to.

  3. Step 3Same day

    Sign & get portal access

Approve the proposal, pay the deposit through Stripe, and you get a login to your own project portal the same day.

    • Deposit invoiced and paid securely through Stripe — you'll always have a clear invoice on file.
    • Your portal login goes out immediately: one place for project status, files, invoices, and messages.
    • We schedule kickoff and confirm exactly what we need from you (logins, logo files, copy, photos) so nothing stalls later.

What you get: Signed scope, deposit paid, and portal access in your inbox.

  4. Step 4Typically 2–8 weeks, depending on scope

    Build in the open

Design and development in short cycles, with a live preview link you can click any time. Feedback lives in the portal, not a buried email thread.

    • You get a private staging link from the first week — watch the real thing take shape instead of waiting for a big reveal.
    • Regular progress updates in the portal, so you always know what's done, what's next, and what's waiting on you.
    • Feedback goes in one place and gets tracked to done. Nothing gets lost in a reply-all chain.

What you get: A working site or app you've reviewed at every stage.

  5. Step 5Launch day, then month to month

    Launch & ongoing support

We deploy to AWS, wire up analytics, and hand over full ownership — then keep it secure and current if you want us to.

    • Deployed on managed AWS infrastructure with SSL, backups, and monitoring in place from day one.
    • Analytics and search essentials configured so you can see what's actually working after launch.
    • You own the code, the data, and the accounts. A monthly maintenance plan is optional — and cancellable with 30 days' notice.

What you get: A live product you own, running on infrastructure we look after.

Your Part

What we need from you

Short list — but these are the things that keep a project on schedule.

A decision maker

One person who can approve scope and give final sign-off. Projects stall when feedback arrives by committee.

Your brand assets

Logo files, brand colors, and photos if you have them. If you don't, we can design a logo and source imagery for you.

Access, not passwords in email

Domain registrar and hosting access when it's time to launch. We'll tell you exactly what's needed and how to share it safely.

Feedback within a few days

Review rounds are where timelines slip. Quick turnarounds on your side keep launch dates honest.
